In a strategic move, the Mumbai Indians (MI) have decided to rest their star bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, for the final IPL 2024 game against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Wankhede Stadium. This decision comes just before the upcoming T20 World Cup, where Bumrah will lead the Indian pace attack.
Jasprit Bumrah in IPL 2024
Bumrah has been the standout player for MI this season, despite their overall underwhelming campaign. He has taken 20 wickets from 13 matches, making him their leading wicket-taker and placing him second on the Purple Cap standings.
In Bumrah’s absence, Arjun Tendulkar will make his first appearance in IPL 2024. The young left-arm pacer will have an opportunity to showcase his skills on the big stage.
MI has also made a couple of other changes. Tilak Verma is missing out due to injury, and he has been replaced by Dewald Brevis. Additionally, Rohit Sharma is not in the playing XI at the moment, but he may come in as an impact substitute later in the game.

The Lucknow Super Giants still have a slim chance of making it to the playoffs. If they can secure a big win against MI at the Wankhede, their hopes remain alive.
