Bumrah’s consistent brilliance throughout the T20 World Cup held in the USA and Caribbean showcased his mastery. He took an impressive 15 wickets at an astonishing average of 8.26. His economy rate of 4.17 demonstrated his unwavering control over the game.
Starting in New York, Bumrah set the tone with a remarkable 3/6 against Ireland. His match-defining 3/14 against Pakistan further solidified his impact. Although he went wicketless against the USA, he bounced back in the Super Eights, claiming six wickets in three outings.
In the semifinal clash against England, Bumrah’s 2/12 (2.4 overs) proved decisive. He saved his best for the final, delivering a crucial 2/18 (4 overs) against South Africa in Barbados.
Bumrah’s recognition as the Player of the Tournament in the T20 World Cup added to his laurels. He now joins Virat Kohli as an Indian player to achieve this honour.
