Jasprit Bumrah’s Journey to 200 Test Wickets

Bumrah’s journey to 200 Test wickets has been nothing short of extraordinary. Known for his precision, accuracy, and ability to generate late movement, Bumrah has consistently troubled batsmen around the world. His 200th wicket came during the fourth day of the Boxing Day Test against Australia when he dismissed Travis Head for just one run. This achievement also made him the joint second-fastest Indian to reach 200 Test wickets, alongside Ravindra Jadeja.

In terms of balls bowled, Bumrah reached the milestone with his 8,484th delivery, making him the fourth-fastest bowler globally to achieve this feat. Only Waqar Younis (7,725 balls), Dale Steyn (7,848 balls), and Kagiso Rabada (8,154 balls) have reached 200 Test wickets faster.

Bumrah’s bowling average of 19.56 is the lowest among all bowlers who have taken 200 Test wickets, further highlighting his exceptional skill and consistency. His performance in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy series has been outstanding, with 29 wickets at an average of 12.34.

Reflecting on his achievement, Bumrah expressed his gratitude and determination to continue performing at the highest level. “It’s a great feeling to reach this milestone, but I’m not stopping here. I want to keep contributing to the team’s success and help India win more matches,” he said.
