India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC Test bowling rankings, while young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has leapt to the second spot in the Test batting rankings.
Jasprit Bumrah’s Dominance
Bumrah’s remarkable performance in the first Test against Australia in Perth saw him achieve career-best figures of 8/72, helping India secure a commanding 295-run victory. This outstanding effort allowed him to overtake South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and Australia’s Josh Hazlewood, who now sit in second and third place with 872 and 860 points respectively. Bumrah now boasts a career-high rating of 883 points.
Jaiswal’s Rise
On the batting front, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s scintillating 161-run knock in the second innings of the Perth Test propelled him to the second spot in the ICC Test batting rankings. Jaiswal’s career-best rating of 825 points places him just behind England’s Joe Root, who leads with 903 points.
