The way Steve Smith has started his home season, the signs are not at all promising for Team India. India and Australia have played just two ODIs so far but if Steve Smith’s form in those two games is anything to go by, then one can say the Indian bowlers are set for a tough time Down Under.
The former Australia skipper has looked in ominous form so far. In both the ODIs, he scored 62-ball hundreds to power his team to thumping wins over the Men in Blue. In the first ODI, Australia won by 66 runs after scoring a mammoth total of 374 for 6. Smith had scored 105 runs in that game.
In a bid to make Steve Smith ‘an offer he can’t refuse’, former Team India opener Wasim Jaffer has hilariously gifted the former Australian skipper a fully-paid trip to Hawaii ahead of the third and final One Day International (ODI) between India and hosts Australia. Currently enjoying his purple patch in the limited-overs series against Team India, Smith slammed back-to-back two centuries to secure a series win for the Aaron Finch-led side.
Thanks to Smith’s batting masterclass against Virat Kohli’s men, Australia have already clinched the ODI series by taking an unassailable 2-0 lead with a comfortable 51-run win over India on Sunday. Taking cognisance of Smith’s red-hot form, the batting coach of Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) has come up with a hilarious suggestion to prevent the former Australian skipper from featuring in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy next month.
Wasim Jaffer shares a meme with Steve Smith being the subject
Talking about Jaffer’s funny tweet, the former Indian batsman has shared a pamphlet about an all-expense paid trip for two to Hawaii. Yes, Jaffer has offered Smith a month-long stay to the United States. “Congratulations @stevesmith49 !! Don’t let this one go! Smiling face with open mouth and smiling eyes,” Jaffer said in his tweet.

The KXIP batting coach had cunningly mentioned 15th December as the date of departure. After the twin limited-over series, the Team India side is also scheduled to play four Test matches as part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy from December 17th. Thus, Jaffer has come up with a hilarious ploy to stop Smith from playing the Test series.
Smith is expected to lead the formidable batting top-order of the Tim Paine-led Australian side against India. Jaffer has become an internet sensation by posting a series of hilarious memes through his official Twitter handle. Earlier, Jaffer had poked fun at KXIP batsman Glenn Maxwell for taking the Indian bowlers to the cleaners in the 2nd ODI at Sydney on Sunday.
