The Indian contingent at the ongoing ISSF World Championship in Baku, Azerbaijan, secured bronze in the 10m air pistol team event on Thursday.
The triplet of Shiva Narwal, Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Singh Cheema, although unsuccessful in their individual efforts, teamed up to finish in third place behind China and Germany in the 10m air pistol category. Shiva, Sarabjot and Arjun scored 579, 578 and 577 points respectively with an aggregate score of 1734, clinching the bronze medal.
In the women’s counterpart, Esha Singh, Palak Gulia and Divya TS had their individual positions at 32nd, 40th and 66th against 118 shooters and in the team event, they finished 11th.
In the men’s skeet event, Anant Jeet Singh Naruka shot 48 in two rounds to finish 45th, while both Angad Vir Singh Bajwa and Gurjot Khangura shot 47 each.
Parinaaz Dhaliwal finished the best from the Indian squad in women’s skeet, shooting 71 in three rounds, followed by Ganemat Sekhon (70) and Darshna Rathore (69).
