The last few days of ISL season 10 are promising to be a blockbuster carnival, with teams showing their true mettle to overcome the opposition. Let’s look at how each team performed in round 10 of the season, which started on December 12.

ISL Season 10: The 10th round opened with former premiers

The former premiers Goa FC and Mumbai City clashed in the opener of the 10th round. Petr Kratky took over the coaching duties from Des Buckingham as he left mid-season to join EFL League One side Oxford United. Mumbai started their campaign under the new coach with a draw (0-0) against the table-toppers at Fatorda Stadium in Goa.

The next match saw the two-time champion Chennaiyin FC take on another former champion Bengaluru FC at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Despite several technical errors, Chennai came out on top against the Sunil Chhetri-led side (2-0). The Brazilian midfielder Rafael Crivellaro and the striker Jordan Murray scored goals through penalties in 6′ and 50′ minutes respectively.

Kerala Blasters, who are now 2nd in the points table played against Punjab FC at Jawaharlal Stadium in Kochi. The Blasters are in amazing form in the tournament, and they continued the same against the underperforming Punjab. Dimitrios Diamantakos scored through a penalty in the 51st minute as he handed over a crucial win for the Blasters.

The defending champions, Mohun Bagan Super Giants (previously ATK Mohun Bagan), took on Northeast United at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Guwahati. The reigning champions followed an aggressive game style throughout the game as they won the match 3-1. Mohun Bagan continuing their 13-match winning streak in the ISL.

Bengaluru FC faced Jamshedpur FC at Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru. The runner-ups from last year this time have won comfortably in a must-win game thanks to the penalty goal by Javi Hernández in 44th minute. Jamshedpur are having a bizarre season with just 1 win out of 10 and are now 11th in the points table.

ISL Season 10: Mumbai City FC yet to win under new Coach

Mumbai City hosted East Bengal at Mumbai Football Arena. The match resulted in a draw, as Mumbai are yet to win a match under a new coach. Though Mumbai maintained their 11-match winning streak, they would hope for full points going further in the tournament for playoff chances.

Odisha FC hosted the former champions Hyderabad FC at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. Odisha thrashed Hyderabad (3-0), who are having the worst of the seasons as they are yet to win a game in the ongoing tournament. Hyderabad FC are hovering at the bottom of the table, and their playoff chances are hanging by a thin thread. On the other hand, Odisha is in top 4 after this win.
