ISL Season 10’s round 11 kick started with shocking defeats. The underdogs Punjab FC defeated the former Champions Chennaiyin FC on Monday 18th December. Last night, the defending champions Mohun Bagan Super Giants were humbled by the defending premiers Mumbai City FC. They registered their first win under new coach Petr Kratky.
Punjab’s Madih Talal scored an all important goal in 56th minute against Chennai and the next game between Mohun Bagan and Mumbai saw as many as 7 red cards, 4 for City and 3 for Super Giants. Mumbai maintained their winning streak of 12 games after thrashing the reigning champions and also broke 13 match streak of the opposition.
ISL Season 10: Action packed round 11
After two blockbuster clashes, the action now shifts to Hyderabad for the bottom of the table clash on Thursday. Hyderabad are yet to win a game in the tournament. They would hope to draw the first blood against Jamshedpur who are just above them with a solitary win.
East Bengal will host Odisha FC at Salt Lake Stadium on Friday, 22nd Dec. Odisha are in a better position on points table at 5th compared to EB, who are at 9th. A win for Odisha will see them in top 4 while Bengal would like to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Mohun Bagan will be back in action on 23rd Dec for their 2nd game in round 11 against the table toppers Goa FC at Salt Lake Stadium. Goa are yet to lose a game in the tournament and awaits a tough challenge in the form of defending Champions. This game will provide an action packed entertainment. A win for either teams will put them on the summit of the table.
