Roy Krishna proves his class again with a late winner for ATK Mohun Bagan as they secure three clean points over Jamshedpur FC with a 1-0 win at the Fatorda Stadium.

Calculated left-foot strike from Roy Krishna puts ATK ahead of Jamshedpur

ATK had taken the approach of securing an early opener by pressing the Jamshedpur defensive line, with a number of right-wing flanking coming from the likes of Pritam Kotal and Manvir Singh.

Jamshedpur had earned their share of chances with a couple of set pieces, but the ATK defense maintained the pressure.

Going into the second half with both sides failing to open the scoring, Manvir had the opportunity to strike one for ATK but an all-alert Rehenesh TP negated his chance.

An hour into the game, Jamshedpur had their first double sub, with Nerijus Valskis and Isaac Vanmalsawma replacing David Grande and William Lalnunfela. ATK followed up in the 72nd minute, with Pronay Halder and Javier Hernandez coming on as Carl McHugh and Manvir Singh marched back.

By the 80th minute, Arindam Bhattacharja pulled off a brilliant save against Valskis, as both sides continue their strive for scoring.

However, in the 85th minute, Roy Krishna went on duty with a clever sprint before receiving a marvelous assist from Williams, leaving Peter Hartley behind and smashing with his left foot into Jamshedpur’s right corner past Rehenesh, marking his 13th goal of this season.

With 36 points in total, ATK maintain their lead in the league table, while Jamshedpur currently occupy the sixth position.
