Odisha FC and Kerala Blasters both struck twice against each other to take home a point apiece at the Fatorda Stadium.

Diego Mauricio’s brace kept Odisha within Kerala’s range

Final minutes into a goalless first half, it was Odisha striker Diego Mauricio who opened up the scoreline in the 45th minute, leading his side into the lead before the second half.

However, Kerala’s Jordan Murray equalized within seven minutes, while Gary Hooper, the English striker who provided the assist for Murray’s goal, netted in the second goal for Kerala in the 68th minute.

However, Mauricio proved his worth once again, as the Brazilian scored his second goal of the match in the 74th minute to level the scores.

The final minutes of the clash saw both teams attempting to put in the winner, with Laishram Premjit Singh making an attempt in the 89th minute which was remarkably stopped by Kerala goalkeeper Albino Gomes.

Within two minutes, the ball was in the other penalty box, and this time Jordan Murray’s pass to Costa Nhamoinesu, whose attempt to head the ball in was negated by Odisha’s keeper Arshdeep Singh.

Kerala displayed a better overall passing gameplay, completing almost 100 more passes than Odisha, while having 75% passing accuracy, compared to their opposition’s 67%.

With 16 points, Kerala are 9th in the league table while Odisha are struggling down in the bottom with just 9 points.
