Jamshedpur FC had the ultimate surprise ready for the favourites Mumbai City FC as they walked out with a 2-0 victory at the Tilak Maidan.

Jamshedpur strike double as a fumbling Mumbai City defense fail to contain

The first half started with similar energy from both sides, with Jamshedpur gaining two back-to-back free kicks within the first few minutes but the watchful Amrinder Singh kept the ball away from the net.

Facing his former side, Farukh Choudhary earned a chance to get Jamshedpur into the lead by the 20th minute, but the forward struck it above the bar. However, they kept pushing Mumbai high up the field.

By the 38th minute, it was now Valskis to wasted another chance to score, heading Isaac’s cross over the bar.

As the second half commenced, Jamshedpur kept their high pressing game alive as Mumbai repeatedly failed to push the attack up the pitch.

The first goal of the match came in the 72nd minute as Boris Singh opened up the scoreline for Jamshedpur. Amrinder was able to deflect Farukh’s flick but the ball ended up with Boris who tapped it past the Mumbai City keeper.

Jamshedpur increased their lead with their second goal of the night in the 91st minute. A remarkable one-two build up between Isaac and Monroy was followed up by the latter aiming at a breaking Grande, the Spaniard who shot it past the Mumbai keeper.
