K.P. Rahul put Kerala Blasters ahead in the 34th minute, but second half goals from Marko Stankovic and Marcelinho saw the home team post a victory in front of their raucous crowd.

Kerala Blasters started the better side in the match and kept churning out chances in regular intervals, testing the opposition goalkeeper. In the 34th minute, K.P Rahul finally broke the deadlock after he put his team ahead.

The move began right from T.P. Rehenesh’s goal kick that fell to Shahal after the Hyderabad defenders failed to deal with it. Sahal then spotted the run of Rahul and laid it perfectly to him who finished it wonderfully.

Going into the break, it looked as though Hyderabad were heading towards yet another defeat. But under 10 minutes of coming back, Mohammad Yasir won a penalty that Marko Stankovic successfully converted to bring the scores level.

For the next 20 minutes it looked as though Kerala would regain their lead, as they constantly kept applying pressure and getting closer to the goal. But a beauty of a shot from Marcelinho put the hosts ahead with 9 minutes to play.

After Mouhamadou Gning conceded the free-kick after foulding Nikhil Poojary, Marcelinho curled a shot from 20 yards out which saw it land inside the top right corner of the goal, leaving T.P Rehenesh with no chance of stopping it.

The hosts then hung on for the remainder of the time to post their first win of the season. The win saw them move to 8th place with 3 points.
