Chennai’s goal drought extended to 6th match as the hosts failed to impose an attacking threat despite starting off brightly.

Nerujis Valskis, making his first start for CFC got close in the first 10 minutes but failed to convert the chance, shooting it over the post. ATK however were trying to be more productive and created more chances as the game progressed.

ATK’s first real opportunity came in the 24th minute when Soosairaj won the ball in a dangerous position to create a chance. His shot however was blocked by defender Goian, who saw it out for a corner.

Despite holding the visitors to 0-0 going into the break, it was evident that ATK were getting closer towards the goal. Coming back from the break, they immediately took the lead after a defensive error from Tondonba Singh saw Das win the header to play in Hernandez. His shot after deflection fell perfectly to Williams who slotted it into the net.

Both Andre Schembri and Edwin came close to equalising for the hosts but their shots couldn’t find the back of the net.

Soosairaj was stretchered midway in the second half and the visitors couldn’t attack much after that. Inspite of that, they hung on to register a vital win.
