With this win, Mumbai City FC have gone to the fifth position in the League Table with 4 points in three matches so far in this season while Pune City have gone down to ninth position in the League Table with only 1 point from their two matches in this season.
Mumbai City FC have started off the match in style. The home team have got the lead at the 25th minute of the match when Modou Sougou have scored his first goal of the campaign. Rafael Bastos has doubled the lead for Mumbai City FC as the 33 year old Brazilian has successfully scored from the penalty box just before the half time mark.
Pune City have tried to make a comeback in the match in the second half of the match as their manager Ranko Popovic had decided to bring Marcelinho in the field at the 59th minute of the match. Though the inclusion of the star player did not help his team to get back in the contest. Mumbai City FC have again got a penalty in the extra time of the second half of the match; but Lucian Goian’s shot was saved by the Pune City’s Goalkeeper Vishal Kaith. The scoreline has remained 2-0 in favour of Mumbai City FC at the end of the match. They will have to visit to Goa in the next gameweek while Pune City will welcome Bengaluru FC in their home turf.
