Mumbai City secured all three points against the previous season’s title holders Chennaiyin FC on Thursday. With this win, Mumbai City FC collected 20 points from 10 encounters. They moved to the second spot in the League Table of Indian Super League and they are only three points behind the League leaders Bengaluru FC. On the other hand, Chennaiyin FC stayed at the 8th position in the League Table with 5 points from 11 encounters so far and their hope to make it to the playoffs is looking fade now.

Mumbai City FC were the better side in the field in this match. They took the lead at the 27th minute of the match. Raynier Fernandes scored for the home side and the ball was provided by Rafael Bastos. The home side doubled their lead in the second half of the match when Modou Sougou scored the winning goal at the 55th minute.
