First game of today’s IPL encounter sees SRH play host to KKR in a match where both teams are desperately looking for a victory. This is then followed by the clash between table toppers and bottom dwellers.
SUNRISERS HYDERABAD VS KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS:
SRH and KKR are in a similar situation, both with 8 points in hand. So every game from now on will feel like a must win encounter for both these sides. SRH arrive on the back of beating CSK while KKR come into today’s clash having suffered a heartbreaking loss vs RCB.
The over reliance on their opening batters continue for SRH as both David Warner and Jonny Bairstow continue to do the bulk of the scoring. But Kane Williamson won’t be concerned as far as the results are in his favor.
Meanwhile KKR came so close to chasing RCB’s mammoth 213 but fell short by just 9 runs. Nitish Rana and Andre Russell smashed it all over the park but the asking rate was just beyond their reach. One could say that the root cause for their loss was Uthappa taking 20 balls to score 9 runs.
SRH have no reasons to change their squad which thumped CSK in their previous game.
Meanwhile KKR, coming on the back of a loss may look to slightly tweak their resources. This might see Harry Gurney or Prasidh Krishna make way for newcomers.
SRH: David Warner, Jonny Bairstow (WK), Kane Williamson (C), Vijay Shankar, Yusuf Pathan, Deepak Hooda, Rashid Khan, Shahbaz Nadeem, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, K Khaleel Ahmed.
KKR: Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Robin Uthappa, Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik (C&WK), Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Harry Gurney/Matt Kelly, Prasidh Krishna/Sandeep Warrier.
ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE VS CHENNAI SUPER KINGS:
RCB welcome table toppers CSK with just one reason in mind. Revenge. The very first match of this years IPL saw RCB being bundled out for 70. Thus this time around, the hosts will look to put up a better performance and take revenge for that night.
An entertaining game is guaranteed with both these sides having played some thrilling games down the years at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Last year’s encounter saw MS Dhoni come to life as CSK scored 71 runs in the last 4.4 overs to register a emphatic victory.
Despite languishing in the bottom of the table, RCB will arrive into the contest on a high, having beaten KKR in their previous game. Also with Virat in red hot form, he will look to score big against whom he particularly hasn’t enjoyed batting with.
Both MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo were seen sweating it out in the nets as they continue their road to recovery. They will be included in the eleven only if they are declared fully fit. Harbhajan Singh could make his return to the side having got the better of RCB left handers in their previous meeting.
RCB too keenly wait to find out whether AB de Villiers will be fully fit to take part in tonight’s clash after suffering a concussion vs MI. Akshdeep Nath could make way for either Shivam Dube or Washington Sundar.
RCB: Virat Kohli, Parthiv Patel, AB de Villiers/Heinrich Klaasen, Moeen Ali, Marcus Stoinis, Akshdeep Nath/Shivam Dube, Pawan Negi, Yuzvendra Chahal, Dale Steyn, Navdeep Saini, Mohammad Siraj.
CSK: Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni/Sam Billings, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Deepak Chahar, Dwayne Bravo/Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir.
