The replays showed that Stubbs had released the ball before his feet hit the boundary cushions.
Stubbs’s effort saved five crucial runs for DC, which eventually proved to be the turning point in the game. In the end, DC held their nerves and won the match by a narrow margin of four runs.
But Stubbs’ contribution to the match was not limited to his fielding. He also delivered a fine cameo with the bat, scoring a quickfire 26 off just 7 balls. His batting helped DC post a competitive total, setting the stage for the thrilling finish.
