IPL 2024 Final: KKR rattles SRH batting for the lowest total in an IPL Final

IPL 2024 Final

The IPL 2024 Final was expected to be a fair battle between the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opening batter and the mighty Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowlers. However, those expectations were buried by KKR’s beautiful bowling that led to the lowest total in an IPL final batting first.

IPL 2024 Final: KKR favourites after first innings

KKR just like in Qualifier 1 against the same position, took control of the game from the first over itself with Mitchell Starc rampaging against the SRH’s dashing openers. He removed Abhishek Sharma with a peach of a delivery and also dismissed Rahul Tripathi in the powerplay to set the platform for others to choke the opposition.

Travis Head failed once again in the important game and was dismissed for a golden duck off Vaibhav Arora. The dangerous Heinrich Klaseen also stumbled on the bigger stage. With the three top performers failing, the Orange Army was left with nothing but to surrender to the opposition’s pure team effort.

SRH just managed to post 113 on the board, the lowest-ever total in the first innings of an IPL Final. Just couldn’t fathom that the team with the highest total in the IPL put up this kind of performance in the IPL final. The target must be a cakewalk for the in-form KKR batting unit to lift the 3rd IPL title.
