Rajasthan Royals have tallied a 57-run win over Delhi Capitals despite David Warner’s efforts at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.
Batting first, Rajasthan Royals piled 199/4 in 20 overs after being invited to bat by Delhi Capitals. Yashasvi and Butler gave Rajasthan an explosive start, accumulated 68/0 in the powerplay. Continuing the carnage, Yashasvi completed his half-century in just 25 balls.
Yashasvi and Buttler added 98 runs for the opening wicket before Mukesh Kumar removed the former for 60(31) in the 9th over. Delhi then fought their way back into the contest but Buttler along with Shimron Hetmyer helped Rajasthan regain control with some blows towards the end of the innings. Buttler was caught-and-bowled by Mukesh for 79(51), while Hetmyer returned unbeaten on 39(21)
Meanwhile, Trent Boult gave Rajasthan Royals an excellent start with the ball. Boult removed Prithvi Shaw (Impact Player) and Manish Pandey in consecutive balls in the 200 chase. Ashwin joined the party as Delhi lost three wickets and managed 38 runs in the powerplay. Lalit Yadav and David Warner have kept things moving and added over 50 runs for the fourth wicket.
Lalit Yadav and David Warner then added 64 runs for the fourth wicket, before Boult cleaned Lalit for 38(24). Warner went to slam his fifty but kept running out of partners. Eventually, Capitals were down to 9 wickets and couldn’t bounce back from the trouble.
