Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) emerge victorious by 21 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) despite Virat Kohli’s fifty on April 26 in the IPL 2023 clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
After putting on to bat first, Jason Roy made a quick fifty to start off. That helped KKR reach 200/5 in 20 overs, with the English opener slamming 56 runs off 29 balls, packed with four fours and five sixes.
Nitish Rana (48) changed gear and dealt in boundaries as Kolkata Knight Riders went past 150 in 16 overs. He got good support from Venkatesh Iyer from the other as KKR aim for a huge total. On the other hand, RCB bowlers picked wickets in quick succession in order to get total control over KKR. Hasaranga and Vyshak grabbed a couple of wickets each as Md. Siraj scalped one wicket. Wanindu Hasaranga and Vyshak Vijay Kumar bagged two wickets each, and Mohammed Siraj scalped a dismissal.
Coming on to bat, RCB struggled in the early stages. RCB reached 179/8 in 20 overs, despite a half-century from Virat Kohli (54). Varun Chakravarthy was in good form for KKR’s bowling department and took three wickets, Andre Russell and Suyash Sharma scalped two dismissals each. The remarkable bowling performances guided Kolkata Knight Riders to the huge win.
