Ravi Shastri believes Virat Kohli took a ‘smart decision’
Recently, the former India coach Ravi Shastri thinks Virat Kohli has taken a “smart decision” by giving up captaincy from all forms of cricket, paving the way to express himself better in the upcoming Indian Premier League.
With the responsibilities of leading the side came huge pressure on Kohli that affected his batting in the last few seasons. Now, the burden is off his shoulders as he had stepped down from the leadership at the end of the last season. Now, he would be eyeing to achieve the success of the 2016 edition
“I think he has taken a smart decision of relinquishing captaincy. I would have still preferred if he stayed on as India’s red-ball captain but that’s his personal choice,” Shastri was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.com.
IPL 2022 will begin with the Chennai Super Kings taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. Speaking about RCB, they will lock horns with Punjab Kings in their first match of the tournament on Sunday.
