Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) are two teams reeling at the bottom of the table this year. They will go head-to-head today at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
Mumbai Indians (MI)
After 8 consecutive losses, MI has come back with two back-to-back wins. They have been eliminated from the tournament but will be playing for pride in the remaining games and looking to spoil the party for the rest of the teams.
MI have a solid unit but they need to address the form of Kieron Pollard who is having a disastrous IPL season. MI should look to bring in young Dewald Brevis in place of the struggling Caribbean. Also, the lack of wickets from Jasprit Bumrah is a massive concern for not only Mumbai but for Team India as well.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
KKR is the team that has made infinite changes and has never shown faith in their match winners. Hence, KKR is having a terrible season despite starting strong. The Iyer-led side hasn’t been able to figure out their best XI even after 10 games. They have benched Australian spearhead Pat Cummins for almost the entire season. He might play today’s game as he has a good track record against MI.
However, KKR management will have to look into the opening position where Aaron Finch is struggling big time. KKR’s batting order as a whole has struggled this year. It is to be seen what changes Iyer and the management makes for today’s game.
WAGING ODDS: MI (1.75) VS KKR (2.10)
MI are the favorites and are priced at 1.75, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹175.
KKR are underdogs and are priced at 2.10 meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹210.
Our Prediction:
KKR have not figured out their best XI yet. On the other hand, MI has found a winning momentum and will look to prolong its winning streak. MI is expected to win the game.
