Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are one step closer to guaranteeing their spot in the playoffs as they emerged victorious in a closely contested encounter against Delhi Capitals (DC). Lucknow registered a 6 run win over the Pant-led side.

KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first on a hot day in Mumbai. LSG rested speedster Avesh Khan and brought in all-rounder K Gowtham. On the other hand, DC was unchanged.
LSG openers Rahul and de Kock gave their team an explosive start. Lucknow lost de Kock early but Hooda and Rahul did not let the momentum to shift. The duo stitched a 95-run stand for the third wicket as they assaulted every DC bowler.
Shardul Thakur was the only DC bowler amongst the wickets. KL Rahul and Hooda’s fifty-powered LSG to a mammoth score of 195.
DC had the worst possible start as they lost both openers inside 3 overs. But Marsh and Skipper Pant took on the bowlers to bring their team back in the game. However, Lucknow bowlers picked up wickets at the crucial stage which made the chase tough.
Youngster Mohsin Khan was the star of the day as the uncapped pacer took 4 wickets for only 16 runs in a high-scoring contest. Pant’s 44 off 30 and Axar’s unbeaten 42 were not enough to take Delhi over the line as Marcus Stoinis successfully defended 21 runs in the last over.
