The Royal encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) will take place for the second time this season at the MCA stadium in Pune. In their previous affair, RCB was able to knock off the Pink army thanks to an exceptional knock from Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
Despite winning their previous encounter against Rajasthan, RCB would be coming into the clash with a lot of issues on their side. Their top order has failed miserably and the combined runs of their top three consisting of Faf, Kohli, and Anuj Rawat have scored only 12 more runs than Jos Buttler.
The form of Kohli is a huge worry as the former skipper is on a hat trick for the Golden ducks this season. RCB’s middle order has rescued them from collapses this season but failed to help the side in their previous game where they registered the lowest score this season.
The loss against SRH has also massively dented their NRR. Hence, Bangalore would like to get back on track and further solidify its chances of going into the playoffs. They have a well-balanced side but it is a matter of their key players peaking at the right time.
Rajasthan Royals (RR)
Rajasthan Royals has been the team to beat this season. This is because they have the best batter and bowler in this IPL, Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Jos Buttler has taken this year’s IPL by storm and has been singlehandedly taking his team to respectable totals. He already has 3 hundred in 7 games and is in line to break Kohli’s record of 4 centuries. On the other hand, leg spinner Chahal has the purple cap and has been a wicket-taker for skipper Sanju Samson in the middle and the death overs.
However, apart from these two and Hetmyer, the batting hasn’t clicked consistently and RR would want their other batters to contribute. They don’t want to be in a position where they lose Buttler and Hetmyer early and other batters get exposed. Their 5th bowler is also a concern as McCoy has been leaking runs.
WAGING ODDS: RCB (1.93) VS RR (1.87)
RR are the favorites and are priced at 1.87, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹187.
RCB are close underdogs and are priced at 1.93 meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹193.
Rajasthan’s key to winning depends on two players i.e Buttler and Chahal. RCB’s Trump card would be leggie Wanindu Hasaranga who has an impressive record against Samson and has the ability to run through a batting lineup. But Rajasthan would fancy themselves to win the contest as they are in red-hot form
