In-form Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is set to face out of touch Delhi Capitals in an evening clash which will be played in the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on a doubleheader super Sunday. In an interesting turn of events, Shreyas Iyer, the current skipper of KKR will face off against his former side DC for the first time in IPL.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
KKR is sitting comfortably on top of the table with three wins in four games. The team is fresh off a comprehensive victory over five-time champs MI, where Pat Cummins stole the show with his 14-ball half-century, equalling the record for the fastest fifty in IPL’s history.
The purple Knights are not expected to make any changes in the side as winning teams usually avoid disturbing the winning combination. With the inclusion of Pat, the team looks more potent as the Australian brings all three skills to the fray. However, Kolkata would like its Indian batters Rahane, Iyer, and Rana to fire and contribute to the team’s performance with the bat.
Delhi Capitals (DC)
Rishabh Pant-led-DC seems to have a lot of loopholes on their side. Their bowling is not as potent as it used to be in the last season. Anrich Nortje, their premier bowler just returned from injury and looks out of sorts in the previous game. Spinner Axar Patel is not having the best of seasons as the left-arm spinner doesn’t have many scalps in his wickets column. In this disarray, only Kuldeep Yadav has been the shining light for DC.
DC’s batting has also let them down. Warner looks rusty in his first outing whereas Rovman Powell hasn’t been able to leave an impact this season. Skipper Pant also hasn’t been able to contribute valuable runs at a healthy strike rate which we normally associate him with.
Waging Odds: KKR (1.80) vs DC (2.05)
KKR are the favorites and are priced at 1.80, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹180.
DC are the underdogs and priced at 2.05, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹205
As odds suggest, KKR is the favorite to win given that they have the momentum this season and DC’s team looks out of form compared to the Knights.
