The IPL 2021 season, the 14th edition of the cash-rich cricket league has its 14th matchday on 21st April when Punjab Kings will take on SunRisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Punjab Kings

After their batting failure against CSK, Punjab Kings bounced back strong against Delhi Capitals on Sunday with totaling a score of 195, courtesy of KL Rahul (61-off-51) and Mayank Agarwal (69-off-36), but unfortunately, the failure of the bowling squad saw them bite the dust, marking their second straight defeat.

Except for Arshdeep Singh’s 7.33 economy rate, the rest of the PBKS bowling squad were battered by DC in the chase as the costly figures from the likes of Mohammed Shami, Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith saw Delhi reaching their target in the 19th over.

Full Squad: KL Rahul (c/wk), Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, Mandeep Singh, Prabsimran Singh, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Sarfaraz Khan, Deepak Hooda, Murugan Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, Harpreet Brar, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ishan Porel, Darshan Nalkande, Chris Jordan, Dawid Malan, Jhye Richardson, Shahrukh Khan, Riley Meredith, Moises Henriques, Jalaj Saxena, Utkarsh Singh, Fabian Allen, Saurabh Kumar.

SunRisers Hyderabad

Having lost all three of their IPL 2021 matches so far, SRH have found themselves at the bottom of the table without a single point. Their latest disappointment was against the defending champion MI on Saturday, as SunRisers exhausted their batting order at a score of 137, just 13 runs away from a win.

Although the SRH bowlers overall displayed an appreciable performance to contain MI at a score of 149, their batting order, except for Bairstow (43), Warner (36), and Vijay Shankar (28), succumbed to catastrophic failure against Mumbai’s bowling.

Full Squad: David Warner (c), Kane Williamson, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Manish Pandey, Sreevats Goswami (wk), Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Priyam Garg, Vijay Shankar, Abhishek Sharma, Abdul Samad, Virat Singh, Jason Roy, Jason Holder, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Shahbaz Nadeem, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T. Natarajan, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, Siddarth Kaul, Basil Thampi, Jagadeesha Suchith, Kedar Jadhav, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman.

Waging Odds: Punjab Kings (1.83) vs SunRisers Hyderabad (2.04)

Punjab Kings are priced at 1.83 and are the favourites. Betting ₹100 on them will earn you ₹183 if they come out as winners.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are the underdogs and are priced at 2.04, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹ 204.

Our prediction:

Despite not winning any of their matches in this season so far, SRH’s bowling has garnered some appreciation with Rashid Khan being the focal point. PBKS’ high scoring batting order had shown its weakness against CSK and SRH will aim to replicate the same.

Coming the other way around, bowling has not been the strong suit for Punjab as they couldn’t win by a huge margin despite scoring high and with the likes of Warner and Bairstow leading the charge, SRH’s chances of securing their first victory this season seems high.

It will likely be a victory for SunRisers Hyderabad.
