In the second match of the doubleheader of Indian Premier League(IPL) 2021, Mumbai Indians(MI) are set to lock horns with the Punjab Kings(PBKS) on Tuesday, September 28, at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Mumbai Indians:
MI are currently positioned in the bottom half of the points table as they have four wins from ten matches. They recently suffered a 54-run defeat to RCB from a winning position. The middle-order batsmen were able to garner 37 runs to the total. Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan have looked good for the side but could not deliver in the tournament.
Rohit Sharma and Co. will look to get their game faces on for the business end of the season.
Punjab Kings:
PBKS got a five-run win over SRH in their previous outing in Sharjah. They currently stand at fifth position on the table. Ravi Bishnoi’s 3-wicket haul and some great bowling feats from Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh showed how strong the bowling department is.
Their batting lineup however is weak and the side has been striving to get runs after their openers’ dismissals. PBKS will be eyeing to qualify the playoffs once more this season after they failed last time.

MI-PBKS clashes have witnessed some thrilling contest in the past and similar match is expected. MI have pressure on them which PBKS can use to their advantage. Both sides’ middle-order hasn’t been up to the mark. MI is apparently more powerful on paper but PBKS won’t be giving in easily. But MI is likely to get the edge in the outing.
