The IPL 2021 season, the 14th edition of the cash-rich cricket league has its 24th match on 29th April when Mumbai Indians will face Rajasthan Royals at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.
Mumbai Indians
Defending champions MI have not had a great start to their campaign this year and have suffered bacl to back losses in their two previous games against DC and PBKS. In both occasions, the batting order failed to rack up a defendable score and despite Rohit Sharma’s 63 against Punjab, their total came to a halt at a mere 131.
Rahul Chahar was the sole wicket-taker in the second innings as the KL Rahul-Chris Gayle combo finished their chase in the 18th over with nine wickets at hand.
Full Squad: Rohit Sharma (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan (wk), Chris Lynn, Anmolpreet Singh, Saurabh Tiwary, Aditya Tare (wk), Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Anukul Roy, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, Rahul Chahar, Jayant Yadav, Dhawal Kulkarni, Mohsin Khan, Nathan Coulter Nile, Adam Milne, Piyush Chawla, James Neesham, Yudhvir Charak, Marco Jansen, Arjun Tendulkar.
Rajasthan Royals
Going against KKR last Saturday with just a single win, RR bounced back strong with a comfortable 6-wicket victory, thanks to the 4-wicket haul of Chris Morris that proved to be vital in the first innings as Sanju Samson’s company only had a target of 134 to chase down.
The Rajasthan skipper put up an unbeaten 42, added with the support from David Miller towards the end saw them reaching the target with seven balls left.
Full Squad: Sanju Samson (c), Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler, Riyan Parag, Shreyas Gopal, Rahul Tewatia, Mahipal Lomror, Kartik Tyagi, Andrew Tye, Jaydev Unadkat, Mayank Markande, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Anuj Rawat, David Miller, Manan Vohra, Christopher Morris, Shivam Dube, Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman, Liam Livingstone, K.C. Cariappa, Akash Singh, Kuldip Yadav.
Waging Odds: Mumbai Indians (1.64) vs Rajasthan Royals (2.35)
Mumbai Indians are priced at 1.64 and are the favourites. Betting ₹100 on them will earn you ₹164 if they come out as winners.
Rajasthan Royals are the underdogs and are priced at 2.35, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹235.
Our Prediction:
With only two wins so far, RR are seventh in the league table and as the win against KKR is expected to give them a confidence boost, defeating MI will take them up to number four. Mumbai’s bowlers will have to be on the watch to counter Samson.
However, Sharma and the rest of the team are known to pick up pace through the middle of their campaign, and with the Delhi pitch giving equal advantages to both batting and bowling, MI will look forward to redeeming themselves from their two-game losing streak.
Mumbai Indians are likely to come out as the winners.
