The IPL 2021 season, the 14th edition of the cash-rich cricket league has its 22nd matchday on 27th April when Delhi Capitals will lock horns against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Delhi Capitals

DC has only suffered one defeat in the ongoing campaign so far and displayed a remarkable defense that pulled them to a Super Over win against SRH on Sunday. Prior to that, their high run-chase successes have clocked DC’s NRR at 0.096.

Avesh Khan has been improving in every match and picked three scalps against SRH. However, Ashwin’s depart from the tournament may prove to be a little inimical for the DC bowling squad.

Full Squad: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant (c/wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Chris Woakes, R Ashwin, Axar Patel, Amit Mishra, Lalit Yadav, Pravin Dubey, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Ishant Sharma, Avesh Khan, Steve Smith, Umesh Yadav, Ripal Patel, Vishnu Vinod (wk), Lukman Meriwala, M Siddarth, Tom Curran, Sam Billings (wk).

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB suffered their first defeat of this season against CSK, falling 69 runs short from reaching the stupendous target of 191 that Chennai put up, courtesy of Jadeja’s last over heroics.

Harshal Patel, who suffered the 37-run batter against Jadeja, has still been the RCB bowling squad’s driving force and currently holds the purple cap with 15 wickets. The batting order, however, couldn’t make a dent against CSK’s bowling with Padikkal putting up the highest runs in the chase at 34.

Full Squad: Virat Kohli (c), AB de Villiers, Devdutt Padikkal, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Siraj, Kane Richardson, Washington Sundar, Pavan Deshpande, Finn Allen, Shahbaz Ahamad, Navdeep Saini, Adam Zampa, Kyle Jamieson, Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar, Sachin Baby, Mohammed Azharuddeen, Daniel Christian, KS Bharat, Suyash Prabhudessai, Daniel Sams, Harshal Patel.

Waging Odds: Delhi Capitals (1.89) vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (1.99)

Delhi Capitals are priced at 1.89 and are the underdogs. Betting ₹100 on them will earn you ₹189 if they come out as winners.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are the favourites and are priced at 1.99, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹199.

Our prediction:

Both teams have the potential to put up massive totals but the difference and the difference will come down to bowling. Despite Ashwin’s departure, Axar Patel has been a positive addition to DC’s bowling lineup and would be on the watch to halt the RCB batting order and they will be high on confidence thanks to their Super Over win previously. Virat Kohli and co, however, will aim to bounce back strong after their lacklustre batting display on Sunday and for both teams, opting to field first is going to be the way forward.

It will be a victory for Delhi Capitals.
