The 2021 IPL season, the 14th edition of the cash-rich cricket league has its 11th match on 18th April when Delhi Capitals will face Kolkata Knight Riders at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Delhi Capitals

Despite a brilliant chase victory against CSK in their opening game, Delhi Capitals couldn’t find their mark in defending their total of 147 against RR in their second outing. Even though the opening pair of Shaw and Dhawan failed to scratch the Rajasthan bowlers, a fifty from skipper Rishabh Pant was pivotal for the first innings.

Although the DC bowlers did some early damage in the defense, their opposition were slowly gaining prominence in their chase and despite triple strikes from Avesh Khan and two wickets from Woakes and Rabada, it was Miller’s blistering 62, followed by four sixes from Morris that handed DC their first defeat of the season.

Full Squad: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant, Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Chris Woakes, R Ashwin, Axar Patel, Amit Mishra, Lalit Yadav, Pravin Dubey, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Ishant Sharma, Avesh Khan, Steve Smith, Umesh Yadav, Ripal Patel, Vishnu Vinod, Lukman Meriwala, M Siddarth, Tom Curran, Sam Billings.

Punjab Kings

From a staggering score of 221 in their season opener against RR, Punjab Kings dropped to a miserable 106 total against CSK with only the newcomer Shahrukh Khan scoring 47 while the rest of the batting order was obliterated against the Chennai bowlers.

Defending such a low score against the intimidating CSK batting lineup became an impossible task for the PBKS bowling squad as MS Dhoni and co reached their target by th 16th over, although Mohammed Shami picked two wickets along with Arshdeep Singh’s economic figures.

Full Squad: KL Rahul (c/wk), Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, Mandeep Singh, Prabsimran Singh, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Sarfaraz Khan, Deepak Hooda, Murugan Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, Harpreet Brar, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ishan Porel, Darshan Nalkande, Chris Jordan, Dawid Malan, Jhye Richardson, Shahrukh Khan, Riley Meredith, Moises Henriques, Jalaj Saxena, Utkarsh Singh, Fabian Allen, Saurabh Kumar.

Waging Odds: Delhi Capitals (1.73) vs Punjab Kings (2.24)

Delhi Capitals are the favourites and are priced at 1.73, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹173.

Punjab Kings are priced at 2.24 and are the underdogs. Betting ₹100 on them will earn you ₹224 if they come out as winners.

Our Prediction:

Looking at how drastically Punjab’s batting performance changed in the last two matches, Delhi has been significantly much more balanced in that aspect. DC’s bowling can prove to be highly effective against PBKS and if not, their batting order is comfortable enough to chase down a mammoth total if that is the case.

Delhi Capitals will win the game.
