The IPL 2021 season, the 14th edition of the cash-rich cricket league has its 23rd match on 28th April when Chennai Super Kings will take on SunRisers Hyderabad at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.
Chennai Super Kings
CSK have been in their true self this year, soaring at the top of the table with four back-to-back victories. Their batting order has been performing exceptionally, reaching 200-ish scores every time they bat first.
Faf du Plessis has been in tremendous form upfront and Jadeja has also displayed his heroics against RCB last Sunday. Defending a total of 191, the CSK bowling squad, added with Jadeja’s triple and Tahir’s double strikes, halted Bangalore at 122.
Full Squad: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (c/wk), Moeen Ali, Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran, Dwayne Bravo, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Robin Uthappa, Imran Tahir, Cheteshwar Pujara, Karn Sharma, Jason Behrendorff, Krishnappa Gowtham, Bhagath Varma, Harishankar Reddy, KM Asif, N Jagadeesan, Hari Nishanth, Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore, Mitchell Santner, Lungi Ngidi.
With only one win so far, David Warner and company are at the bottom of the table and are in desperate need of points to climb above. An easy win against Delhi Capitals slipped from their hands after the game went into Super Over last Sunday.
Chasing a target of 160, SRH started off with Bairstow’s early hits (38-off-18) and added with Kane Williamson’s unbeaten 66-off-51. Unfortunately, they were able to clock only 7 runs in the Super Over which was an easy job for DC.
Full Squad: David Warner (c), Kane Williamson, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Manish Pandey, Sreevats Goswami (wk), Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Priyam Garg, Vijay Shankar, Abhishek Sharma, Abdul Samad, Virat Singh, Jason Roy, Jason Holder, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Shahbaz Nadeem, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T. Natarajan, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, Siddarth Kaul, Basil Thampi, Jagadeesha Suchith, Kedar Jadhav, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman.
Waging Odds: Chennai Super Kings (1.82) vs SunRisers Hyderabad (2.10)
Chennai Super Kings are priced at 1.82 and are the favourites. Betting ₹100 on them will earn you ₹182if they come out as winners.
SunRisers Hyderabad are the underdogs and are priced at 2.10, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹210.
The Delhi pitch has seen appreciable scores in the past and considering CSK’s recent finesse, they will be able to put up another double-century nearing score if they opt to bat first.
SRH’s batting order has not been stable and taking on Chennai bowlers is likely to prove to be a difficult task for them. However, Williamson will be the man to watch out for. All things considered, CSK has the upper hand going forward.
It will be a victory for Chennai Super Kings.
