Kings XI Punjab

Kings XI Punjab’s misery continues with one defeat after another. Currently, at the bottom of the table with just two points, KXIP had no luck against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 8th October, as a lacklustre bowling squad had SRH climb their score to 201. Moreover, despite the marvellous effort of 37-ball-77 from Nicholas Pooran, the batting order completely succumbed to opposition bowling by the 17th over, losing the game by 69 runs.

Full squad: KL Rahul (c & wk), Mohammed Shami, Karun Nair, Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Mandeep Singh, Sarfaraz Khan, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Deepak Hooda, Glenn Maxwell, Chris Jordan, James Neesham, Tajinder Singh, Prabhsimran Singh (wk), Murugan Ashwin, Harpreet Brar, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jagadeesha Suchith, Ravi Bishnoi, Hardus Viljoen, Darshan Nalkande, Arshdeep Singh, Sheldon Cottrell, Ishan Porel.

Kolkata Knight Riders

After losing to Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders bounced back against Chennai Super Kings with an impressive defending victory. However, while Rahul Tripathi opened up the innings with a blistering 81-off-51, the rest of the KKR batting squad failed to make a mark, although pushing the score to 167. The bowlers made an effective job of economic figures which helped them to secure a 10-run victory over CSK.

Full Squad: Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik (c & wk), Kuldeep Yadav, Lockie Ferguson, Nitish Rana, Prasidh Krishna, Rinku Singh, Sandeep Warrier, Shivam Mavi, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shubman Gill, Siddhesh Lad, Sunil Narine, Pat Cummins, Eoin Morgan, Varun Chakravarti, Tom Banton (wk), Rahul Tripathi, Chris Green, Nikhil Naik (wk), Pravin Tambe, M Siddharth.

Waging odds: Kings XI Punjab (2.10) vs Kolkata Knight Riders (1.72)

Kings XI Punjab are priced at 2.10 and are the underdogs. Betting ₹100 on them will earn you ₹210 if they snatch a victory tomorrow.

Kolkata Knight Riders are the favourites and are priced at 1.72  meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹172.

Our prediction:

The KXIP batting order is losing its finesse match after match and except a good overall performance, it will be hard to face the Kolkata bowling squad who can effectively defend as well as keep the pressure in the dead overs.

With the Gill-Tripathi opening duo getting settled along with the support from Rana and Morgan in the middle, KKR can easily make good use of the Punjab bowlers to skyrocket their scores.

Kolkata Knight Riders will come out as winners.
