Kings XI Punjab

Even though they lost their last game against Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab’s batting order, led by KL Rahul can comfortably cruise past the double century score. Both Rahul and Mayank have been stupendous form as openers, while Nicholas Pooran showered some nice hits against MI. Sheldon Cottrell has landed impressive bowling figures in the last match. However, Neesham and Gowtham gave away too many runs to the MI batting order.

Full squad: KL Rahul (c & wk), Mohammed Shami, Karun Nair, Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Mandeep Singh, Sarfaraz Khan, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Deepak Hooda, Glenn Maxwell, Chris Jordan, James Neesham, Tajinder Singh, Prabhsimran Singh (wk), Murugan Ashwin, Harpreet Brar, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jagadeesha Suchith, Ravi Bishnoi, Hardus Viljoen, Darshan Nalkande, Arshdeep Singh, Sheldon Cottrell, Ishan Porel.

Chennai Super Kings

What likely started off as a superb win against the defending champions in the inaugural match, Chennai Super Kings has been struggling in this year’s IPL, with three consecutive losses and are now at the bottom of the table.

While the bowling squad did appreciable against Sunrisers in their previous match, the batting order showed its weak points, with du Plessis, Watson and Rayudu all losing wickets early. There was a combined effort from Jadeja’s fifty along with the skipper MS Dhoni himself scoring 47-off-36, unfortunately, was not enough to reach the target.

Full Squad: KM Asif, Dwayne Bravo, Deepak Chahar, Piyush Chawla, Sam Curran, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Faf du Plessis, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Josh Hazlewood, Imran Tahir, Ravindra Jadeja, Kedar Jadhav, Narayan Jagadeesan (wk), Monu Kumar, Lungi Ngidi, Ambati Rayudu, Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore, Mitchell Santner, Karn Sharma, Shardul Thakur, Murali Vijay, Shane Watson.

Waging odds: Kings XI Punjab (1.90) vs Chennai Super Kings (1.80)

Kings XI Punjab are priced at 1.90 and are the underdogs. Betting ₹100 on them will earn you ₹190 if they snatch a victory tomorrow.

Chennai Super Kings are the favourites and are priced at 1.80 meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹180.

Our prediction:

CSK batting stalwarts du Plessis and Rayudu need to return to their natural game, while the same support from the Dhoni-Jadeja combo in the middle will be necessary, while the CSK bowlers must be on top of the game to stop the opposition from reaching scores around 200.

The KXIP bowling performance needs to be more evenly spread out so they can stop the CSK batsmen from scoring big knocks. However, Rahul, Mayank and Pooran can easily open up the batting to start off their fireworks. Kings XI Punjab are likely to come out as winners.
