The IPL 2020 season, the 13th edition of the cash-rich cricket league has its 20th match on 6th October when Mumbai Indians will face Rajasthan Royals at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The defending champions Mumbai Indians are gaining their pace back into the tournament with two back to back wins against Punjab and Hyderabad. The batting squad remarkably put up a score over 200 against SRH, led by an impeccable 67-off-39 from Quinton de Kock, with support from Suryakumar Yadav, Pandya, Pollard and the rising star Ishan Kishan. MI bowlers were brilliant in defending, as Bumrah, Boult and Pattinson each picked two scalps.
Full Squad: Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma (c), Rahul Chahar, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Quinton de Kock (wk), Digvijay Deshmukh, Ishan Kishan (wk), Dhawal Kulkarni, Chris Lynn, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mohsin Khan, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, James Pattinson, Kieron Pollard, Prince Balwant Rai, Anukul Roy, Sherfane Rutherford, Anmolpreet Singh, Aditya Tare (wk), Saurabh Tiwary, Jayant Yadav, Suryakumar Yadav.
Starting off IPL 2020 with two victories, Rajasthan Royals have failed to come out as winners in their last two games against KKR and RCB. The 200-crossing batting order looked bland against RCB, except Mahipal Lomror’s 47-off-39 and Tewatia’s quick sixes at the end. While Archer, Shreyas Gopal and Tewatia were economical in defending, Unadkat, Curran and Riyan Parag were equally costly in defending their total of 154.
Full Squad: Steve Smith (c), Jofra Archer, David Miller, Robin Uthappa (wk), Ben Stokes, Riyan Parag, Sanju Samson (wk), Jos Buttler (wk), Mayank Markande, Mahipal Lomror, Manan Vohra, Varun Aaron, Jaydev Unadkat, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Aniruddha Joshi, Andrew Tye, Tom Curran, Oshane Thomas, Anuj Rawat, Shreyas Gopal, Shashank Singh, Rahul Tewatia, Ankit Rajpoot, Kartik Tyagi, Akash Singh.
Waging odds: Mumbai Indians (1.57) vs Rajasthan Royals (2.25)
Mumbai Indians are the waging favourites and are priced at 1.57, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹157.
Rajasthan Royals are priced at 2.25 and are the underdogs. Betting ₹100 on them will earn you ₹225 if they come out as winners.
The four-time champions Mumbai are starting to show their true colours with an equally impressive performance in both batting and bowling. With Rohit-de Kock as openers and the support from Pollard, Pandya and Kishan in the middle, big scores are becoming comfortable for the team, while the Bumrah-Boult-Pattinson trio continues to impress.
Rajasthan Royals still have the potential to make a comeback having Smith and Samson early in the batting order ready to rain fours and sixes, while both Tewatia and Archer are opening themselves up as all-rounders with marvellous batting as well as bowling.
Mumbai Indians will come out as the winners.
