Mumbai Indians

The defending champions Mumbai Indians pulled off their second win of the season spectacularly against Kings XI Punjab on Thursday. Rohit Sharma led from the front with a staggering 45-ball-70, while the middle order powerplay from Pollard and Hardik Pandya propelled the score to 191.

The MI bowling squad defended exceptionally against KXIP and the destructive KL Rahul, who was quickly dispatched by Rahul Chahar, along with Bumrah both of whom picked two scalps each with superb economy rates. Pattison also picked two wickets to sweep up a 48 run win.

Full Squad: Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma (c), Rahul Chahar, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Quinton de Kock (wk), Digvijay Deshmukh, Ishan Kishan (wk), Dhawal Kulkarni, Chris Lynn, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mohsin Khan, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, James Pattinson, Kieron Pollard, Prince Balwant Rai, Anukul Roy, Sherfane Rutherford, Anmolpreet Singh, Aditya Tare (wk), Saurabh Tiwary, Jayant Yadav, Suryakumar Yadav.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

After two defeats in their first two matches, Sunrisers Hyderabad have made a remarkable comeback with two back-to-back wins against Delhi and Chennai. The 19-year-old Priyam Garg scored his maiden IPL fifty, while Warner, Pandey and Abhishek Sharma provided some quick hits.

While Bhuvi was impressive with a 6.32 economy rate and a wicket, his injury is a worry for the next match. Meanwhile, Rashid Khan continues to shine with his marvellous bowling figures. Natarajan picked two scalps, while the young Abdul Samad secured one wicket.

Full Squad: David Warner (c), Rashid Khan, Sanjay Yadav, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Khaleel Ahmed, Sandeep Sharma, Abdul Samad, Mitchell Marsh, Shreevats Goswami (wk), Mohammad Nabi, Fabian Allen, Abhishek Sharma, Basil Thampi, Billy Stanlake, Sandeep Bavanaka, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Virat Singh, T Natarajan, Kane Williamson, Shahbaz Nadeem, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Manish Pandey, Vijay Shankar, Siddarth Kaul, Priyam Garg.

Waging odds: Mumbai Indians (1.61) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (2.10)

Mumbai Indians are the waging favourites and are priced at 1.61, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹161.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are priced at 2.10 and are the underdogs. Betting ₹100 on them will earn you ₹210 if they come out as winners.

Our prediction:

While Kane Williamson’s return to the starting XI has been positive, the possible absence of Bhuvi’s injury can prove to be a big blow for SRH. Although, the impeccable Rashid Khan will be there to lead the bowling squad, while Warner, Bairstow, Pandey and Williamson take charge of scoring runs.

On the other hand, the Rohit-Pollard-Pandya trio is comfortably getting the big hits in the UAE and will aim at another double century nearing score or going over it. Chahar and Bumrah will attempt to restrict the SRH batsmen along with Pattison. Mumbai Indians will come out as winners.
