The IPL 2020 season, the 13th edition of the cash-rich cricket league has its 48th match on 28th October when Mumbai Indians will face Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Despite clocking a total of 195, MI were surprised by RR in the chase last Sunday as their exceptional bowling squad were not in their usual form. Their innings started off with impressive efforts from Ishan Kishan (37), Suryakumar (40) and Tiwari (34) plus a blistering 21-ball-60* from Hardik Pandya propelling the score near the double century mark. However, their bowlers were very costly in defending, with only Pattinson picking two wickets.
Full Squad: Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, Rahul Chahar, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Quinton de Kock (wk), Digvijay Deshmukh, Ishan Kishan (wk), Dhawal Kulkarni, Chris Lynn, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mohsin Khan, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, James Pattinson, Kieron Pollard (c), Prince Balwant Rai, Anukul Roy, Sherfane Rutherford, Anmolpreet Singh, Aditya Tare (wk), Saurabh Tiwary, Jayant Yadav, Suryakumar Yadav.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of struggling CSK on Sunday. Despite a fifty from the skipper Kohli and some hits from ABD, their total of 145 were easily chased down by CSK. Only Chahal and Morris had picked one wicket each while the rest of the RCB bowling squad were unable to secure any more scalp.
Full Squad: Virat Kohli (c), Parthiv Patel (wk), AB de Villiers, Chris Morris, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shivam Dubey, Aaron Finch, Umesh Yadav, Adam Zampa, Washington Sundar, Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Siraj, Dale Steyn, Moeen Ali, Pawan Negi, Gurkeerat Mann Singh, Isuru Udana, Devdutt Padikkal, Shahbaz Ahamad, Joshua Philippe (wk), Pavan Deshpande.
Waging odds: Mumbai Indians (1.72) vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (2.05)
Mumbai Indians are the waging favourites and are priced at 1.72 meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹172.
Royal Challengers Bangalore are priced at 2.05 and are the underdogs. Betting ₹100 on them will earn you ₹205 if they come out as winners.
In their previous faceoff in the current IPL, RCB edged out with a Super Over victory. Winning today’s match will secure either team’s entry into the playoffs. Both the teams who have shown exceptional bowling performances in the tournament failed to achieve the same in their latest games and will focus on that. One irk for MI is the absence of the skipper Rohit Sharma, which is a big blow to the batting squad. However, both teams still have high potential to score massively.
It will be a victory for Mumbai Indians.
