CSK batting order suffer another crumbling

Winning the toss, CSK decided to bat ahead, with the Sam Curran-du Plessis opening duo marching to the field. However, du Plessis lost his wicket early in the 3rd over on just 10 runs and Curran racked up a slow 22-off-25.

Shane Watson started fast with two fours but his wicket was short-lived, followed by another lacklustre 13 from Rayudu. Dhoni cruised till 28, with an appreciable 30-ball-35* from Jadeja and only 4 from Kedar Jadhav at the end as CSK ended their innings at a mere 125.

Archer, Tewatia and Shreyas Gopal landed amazing bowling figures with one scalp each, picking Du Plessis, Rayudu and Curran respectively. The youngster Kartik Tyagi secured the wicket of Watson.

Jos Buttler sets off his firework with a match-winning 70 unbeaten

Starting their defence, CSK bowling sensation Deepak Chahar channelled some hope with picking both Ben Stokes at 19 and Samson at 0, while Robin Uthappa too lost his wicket at just four against Josh Hazlewood.

The RR skipper Steve Smith was having a tough time to find the boundary until Jos Buttler arrived at no. 3 and stole the show with a swashbuckling 70*-off-48, including seven fours and two sixes. Smith also remained unbeaten at 26-off-34 as RR reached their target of 126 with still 15 balls remaining.
