After almost two months of nail-biting and adrenaline-rushing action, the 2020 IPL season is finally stepping into its final match on 10th November at the Dubai International Stadium. Mumbai Indians, the defending champions will be taking on the first-time finalists Delhi Capitals.
After a lacklustre start to the tournament, MI showed off its true colours with mesmerising performances throughout the season that have landed them in the final once again for the second straight time. After finishing top of the league table with 18 points, MI defeated DC in the 1st Qualifier to head straight for the final match and are just one step away from their fifth IPL trophy, since their last one back in 2017.
Full Squad: Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma (c), Rahul Chahar, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Quinton de Kock (wk), Digvijay Deshmukh, Ishan Kishan (wk), Dhawal Kulkarni, Chris Lynn, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mohsin Khan, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, James Pattinson, Kieron Pollard, Prince Balwant Rai, Anukul Roy, Sherfane Rutherford, Anmolpreet Singh, Aditya Tare (wk), Saurabh Tiwary, Jayant Yadav, Suryakumar Yadav.
The current IPL has been the best season for Delhi Capitals yet. After eight years the Shreyas Iyer-led team made it into the playoffs with a 2nd position finish and despite a loss against MI in the 1st qualifier, DC had another chance against SRH in Qualifier 2 which they utilised to their best interests with a 17-run victory and have reached the final for the first time in the franchise’s history.
Full Squad: Shreyas Iyer (c), Ravichandran Ashwin, Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant (wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Daniel Sams, Lalit Yadav, Keemo Paul, Alex Carey (wk), Amit Mishra, Sandeep Lamichhane, Axar Patel, Kagiso Rabada, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Ishant Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Tushar Deshpande, Anrich Nortje.
Waging odds: Mumbai Indians (1.66) vs Delhi Capitals (2.20)
Mumbai Indians are priced at 1.66 and are the favourites. Betting ₹100 on them will earn you ₹166 if they come out as winners.
Delhi Capitals are the underdogs and are priced at 2.20, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹220.
While MI has defeated DC in all of their three previous encounters in the ongoing season, its no doubt that Delhi will go their maximum to make the 13th IPL season a memorable one, clinching the trophy on their first attempt.
However, the 4-time champions Mumbai are no doubt the favourites and have all the batting fireworks and bowling gunpowder to turn the showdown into a walk in the park.
Mumbai Indians will become the IPL 2020 champions.
