The IPL 2020 season, the 13th edition of the cash-rich cricket league has its 30th match on 14th October when Delhi Capitals will take on Rajasthan Royals at the Dubai International Stadium.
Delhi Capitals have been superb in this IPL season, having secured 10 points out of their first seven games. However, they lost their last face-off against Mumbai Indians, despite scoring an appreciable 162 with Shikhar Dhawan’s unbeaten 69 and the captain Shreyas Iyer’s 42. Rabada picked two wickets while Nortje was economical, but the other bowlers were too costly in defending.
Full Squad: Shreyas Iyer (c), Ravichandran Ashwin, Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant (wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Daniel Sams, Lalit Yadav, Keemo Paul, Alex Carey (wk), Amit Mishra, Sandeep Lamichhane, Axar Patel, Kagiso Rabada, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Ishant Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Tushar Deshpande, Anrich Nortje.
Despite a victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last game, Rajasthan Royals are still struggling down in the 7th position of the table. While the top batting order did not make a mark in the chase against SRH, swashbuckling performances from Riyan Parag (26-ball-42 unbeaten) and Rahul Tewatia (45-off-28 unbeaten) helped in a 5 wicket victory. Economic bowling figures were seen from Archer, Gopal and Unadkat.
Full Squad: Steve Smith (c), Jofra Archer, David Miller, Robin Uthappa (wk), Ben Stokes, Riyan Parag, Sanju Samson (wk), Jos Buttler (wk), Mayank Markande, Mahipal Lomror, Manan Vohra, Varun Aaron, Jaydev Unadkat, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Aniruddha Joshi, Andrew Tye, Tom Curran, Oshane Thomas, Anuj Rawat, Shreyas Gopal, Shashank Singh, Rahul Tewatia, Ankit Rajpoot, Kartik Tyagi, Akash Singh.
Waging odds: Delhi Capitals (1.66) vs Rajasthan Royals (2.20)
Delhi Capitals are the favourites and are priced at 1.66, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win the match, you’ll be making ₹166.
Rajasthan Royals are priced at 2.20 and are the underdogs. Betting ₹100 on them will earn you ₹220 if they come out as winners.
In their previous face-off last Friday, Delhi Capitals won the match by 46 runs. They are on the battle for the top spot with MI and with constant impressive performances from their batsmen, big scores aren’t too stressing for DC.
Having said that, the bowling squad needs to be more economic, otherwise, the run-hungry RR batsmen, who will be confident coming off a victory, will try to capitalise and pick off another victory and climb higher on the table.
It will be a victory for Rajasthan Royals.
