CSK come in to the contest as the losing side after squandering the chance of reaching the finals directly. Their third loss vs MI this season now sees them needing to beat DC in order to make it through.

Usual problems continued for CSK as their top order once again collapsed very early. The side also missed the services of Kedar Jadhav as Vijay failed to accelerate the scoring despite scoring 26.

In addition to the older problems, fielding too was below standard with the side dropping sitters. CSK now have one final chance to correct everything. Else they will have to go back home.

DC would have felt unlucky to drop to 3rd place and take the longer route towards the final. But currently they will have no complaints as a satisfying performance saw them overcome SRH in the Eliminator.

Rishabh Pant’s return to form comes as boost to the side, who look to improve their finishing towards the death. Keemo Paul doing well comes as an handy for the side and with him playing on the same wicket might benefit him.

Team News:

Despite losing to MI, CSK might continue with the same side as similar conditions to Chepauk are expected to be in place.

While DC’s Indian contingent had a good outing vs SRH, Munro found it difficult to handle spin. He could be replaced by Ingram. Also Morris coming in for Boult is a possibility.

Expected XI:

CSK: Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Murali Vijay, MS Dhoni(w/c), Ambati Rayudu, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Deepak Chahar, Imran Tahir.

DC: Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer(c), Colin Munro/Colin Ingram, Rishabh Pant(w), Sherfane Rutherford, Axar Patel, Keemo Paul, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma, Trent Boult.
