Opening night of the tournament saw RCB falter for just 70 runs despite posing such a strong side. They will look to correct their mistakes when they host MI at Bengaluru today.

Both the sides that face off today come into the clash following defeats in their previous game.

RCB suffered what no team would hope for, becoming all out for a mere score of 70.

Their batsmen couldn’t cope up with the slowness of the Chennai wicket and perished even before they could get their eye into the game. But today’s game will see them fancy their chances as the wicket is set to be a batting paradise. The last T20 match played here showed similar behaviour as Maxwell took every bowler to the cleaners and guided Australia home.

Meanwhile the visitors too come on the back of a defeat by the hands of DC. The side will be relieved that Jasprit Bumrah’s injury scare was short-lived, as the pacer is expected to play today.

One major concern will be the side’s abilities to chase huge targets after their batting order was exposed against DC.

Team News:

One cannot single out one a particular player in the disappointing performance vs CSK. The side on the while failed to adapt to the conditions and fell cheaply.

Also on paper the side still makes for a very good reading. Thus RCB will most likely retain the same squad.

Expected XI: Parthiv Patel (wk), Virat Kohli (c), Moeen Ali, AB de Villiers, Shimron Hetmyer, Shivam Dube, Colin de Grandhomme, Navdeep Saini, Yuzvendra Chahal, Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Siraj.

MI will be boosted by the fact that Lasith Malinga has returned  following international duty. But it doesn’t seem as though the Sri Lankan will be involved so early into the tournament.

Young pacer Rasikh Salam impressed everyone despite not getting a wicket. He will retain his place and will look to build upon his impressive debut performance on Sunday.

Expected Xi: Rohit Sharma (c), Quinton de kock (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Yuvraj Singh, Kieran Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Ben Cutting, Mitchell McClenaghan, Rasikh Salam, Jasprit Bumrah.
