The beautiful game has fan followings all around the globe, from north of the Arctic Circle to spreading across the hundreds of islands around Pacific Ocean. In a recent survey conducted by English sports-fashion retail company JD Sports, the most popular teams searched in Google according to different countries dig up some interesting data.
The company accumulated the Google search engine data from various countries to measure up the tally of the highest number of searches per club, and as you can see in the picture below, its Real Madrid who are the most famous around the world.
Los Blancos are the most famous in their country of origin, along with USA, Canada, India, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Central Europe, Central Asia, Central and West Africa and more, to top the list with a total of 97 countries. Interestingly, the Mongolians prefer Frank Lampard and his boys.
The Gunners come second, with 17 countries choosing them to be on top of the search engine, including the UK, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Greenland. The EPL toppers Liverpool are favoured by Ireland, Norway, Indonesia and unsurprisingly, Egypt- You know the reason.
Manchester United are the second runner up, topping in 16, with a heavy occupancy in Southern Africa, Sweden and Malaysia.
FC Barcelona have their biggest fan base in Turkey, in addition to Czech Republic, Austria and Slovakia.
Bayern Munich, Paris Saint Germain, Juventus, SL Benfica, Cruz Azul, Flamengo, River Plate and Ajax remain the clubs most famous in their countries of origin, with the Jews having a surprisingly high following in Ukraine and South Korea.
