According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter Milan will continue the trail of Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku, after their previously offered deal fell £22 million short of his valuation at Old Trafford last week.
The Nerazzuri are ready to have a meeting with United this week to ensure their new deal for the Belgian of a two year loan with a forced option to buy at €70 million.
Solskjær’s side are ready to listen to offers for the 26-year old who arrived at the Theater of Dreams from Everton for £75 million back in 2017.
According to La Gazzetta delleo Sport, Lukaku previously agreed personal terms with Antonio Conte’s side, but the Italians were £22 million shorter than what the Red Devils had valued their hitman for.
Lukaku hailed new Inter boss Conte, who previously tried to sign him at Chelsea.
He said: “Good that Conte went to Inter, for me, he is the best coach in the world.
“As for my future, I have already made a decision that I still cannot communicate publicly out of respect for Manchester United with whom I have a contract.”
“I am a big Serie A fan, those close to me know that I have always wanted to play in the English league and in the Italian one, I love Italy.
“And then Cristiano Ronaldo arrived, Sarri will go to Juventus, Ancelotti is at Napoli, it will be an exciting Serie A.
“The club and my agent will talk about it but I have already made my decision.” he added.
