Henrirkh Mkhitaryan will be out of action for minimum of six weeks with a broken foot. The official website of the Gunners today stated that the Armenian attacking midfielder will be unavailable in this festive period.
English Premier League sides have to play a lot of matches in the Christmas period. So, the squad depth is the most important thing for the teams right now. However, the Gunners are facing a lot of injury problems at this point of time. Danny Welbeck is out of action for few months and now it’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan who will be unavailable.
These things put a lot of pressure on the manager as his thought processes are altered due to the circumstances. Arsenal are currently situated at the fifth position in the League Table. However, their defensive unit are also facing several injury problems.
Unai Emery played Nacho Monreal at the centre back position in the match against Burnley at the Emirates in this weekend. However, the Spanish defender picked up a knock in that match. A late fitness test will assess his condition before going into the match. Unai Emery mostly will give opportunities to Aaron Ramsey and Alex Iwobi in the attacking third until Henrikh Mkhitaryan is fully fit to take part in a match.
