P V Sindhu bowed out of the ongoing Indonesia Open from the pre-quarterfinal round after going down against Tai Tzu Ying on Thursday.
Suffering an 18-21, 16-21 loss in the match against the Taiwanese shuttler in just 39 minutes, it worsened Sindhu’s head to head record against Tai Tzu, which is currently 5-19 favouring the latter.
Meanwhile, Kidambi Srikanth defeated his compatriot Lakshya Sen to secure his berth in the quarterfinals. The 45-minute clash saw Srikanth dominating the first game, followed by a comeback attempt from Lakshya in the second, but Srikanth was still the one to take home a 21-17, 22-20 straight game win.
Srikanth’s next challenge for the last four entry will be China’s Li Shi Feng, who is coming off a shocking win over fourth seed Loh Kean Yew in the pre-QF, marking a 21-19, 21-14 win over the Singaporean.
H S Prannoy and Priyanshu Rajawat as well as the pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are set to be in action later in the day.
