Indonesia Masters: India’s Campaign Ends As Lakshya Sen, Tanisha Crasto-Ashwini Ponnappa Duo Crash Out In Quarterfinals


With the back-to-back exits of Lakshya Sen, as well as the pair of Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa, India’s campaign at the ongoing Indonesia Masters comes to an end on Friday.

Lakshya went down to local shuttling star Jonatan Christie, the current world no. 3 who lost the first game 15-21 but recovered to win 21-10, 21-13 in the next two games to win the match. Former Olympic and World champion Carolina Marin reached her first semifinal in 2023 in women’s singles. In the quarterfinals, the Spaniard defeated Line Christophersen. Up next, Marin will face Han Yue of China. In the men’s doubles semifinal, Chinese pair He Jiting and Zhou Haodong thrashed Aaron Chia and Soh Wooiyik of Malaysia in straight games (21-17, 21-10).
