Indian shuttlers Parupalli Kashyap and Tanisha Crasto had upsetting conclusions to their respective Taipei Open Super 300 campaigns as the country’s contingent bowed out from the quarterfinals on Friday.

Kashyap, seeded third at the event, ended his dream run to a narrow 12-21, 21-12, 17-21 loss within 55 minutes at the hands of Malaysian player Soong Joo Ven in his last eight outing.

Tanisha, who performed brilliantly in both the mixed and women’s doubles categories, suffered double defeats. Her mixed doubles stint with Ishaan Bhatnagar ended in a 32-minute match against Malaysian pair Pang Ron and Toh Ee Wei who won 21-19, 21-12.

Teaming up with Shruti Mishra for the women’s doubles event, Tanisha produced a fighting effort but couldn’t get the last laugh as the Indian girls went down to the sixth seeded duo of Ng Tsz Yau and Tsang Hiu Yan of Hong Kong 16-21 22-20 18-21.
