The Wushu World Cup Qualifying Championships held in Jiangyin, China, from April 21 to 26, 2024, witnessed a commendable performance by the Indian Wushu team. The Indian contingent bagged a total of seven medals, which included two gold medals. This achievement not only brought glory to the nation but also confirmed the berth of eight Indian players for the Wushu World Cup scheduled later this year.

The tournament served as a supplementary qualifier for the 3rd Taolu World Cup 2024 and the 10th Sanda World Cup 2024 event. It addressed the concerns of many Indian players who were unable to participate in the 16th World Wushu Championships primarily due to visa issues.

Among the medal winners, Roshibina Devi, who had already qualified for the World Cup via her World Championships silver medal performance, was a notable participant. In addition to the two golds, India also secured two silver and three bronze medals from this event.

The tournament attracted nearly 300 athletes from 38 countries. Despite the stiff competition, the Indian team managed to make its mark. The commendable performance of the Indian athletes at the Championships was celebrated back home, with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) acknowledging their achievements.
