However, here’s a young Indian kid that has perfected Messi’s free kick, and on top of that, performs the maestro’s signature celebration!
The video, which has become viral after emerging on various online news outlets, shows a kid from Kerala, wearing the famed no. 10 jersey of the Argentina national football team, and performs a spectacular free kick with his left foot, exactly similar to the six times Ballon d’Or winner.
The ball swerves into a ring at the top left corner of the goalpost, and the clip ends with the kid doing Messi’s famous celebration move- kneeling down and praying to the Almighty.

Since its upload on yesterday, the clip has gone viral on multiple social media platforms, and has even come under the radar of a number of international media accounts. Additionally, tthe Indian football fandom has been crazy on the Keralite child’s amazing execution.
It later came to light that the kid’s name is Mishal Abulais, he is 12 years old and hails from the Malappuram district of Kerala. Many netizens also brought the video to the attention of Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju.
Messi has been a fundamental factor behind Barcelona’s success in the past decade. The forward has 474 appearances for the Catalans, scoring 438 goals across all competitions. The 32 year old has also made 138 international appearances, and netted the ball 70 times.
