The Indian shooting contingent has bagged a total of four medals, including two gold and one silver and one bronze each, at the ongoing ISSF Shooting World Cup taking place in Changwon, South Korea on Wednesday.

In the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event, the duo of Mehuli Ghosh and Shahu Tushar Mane thrashed Eszter Meszaros and Istvan Pen, defeating the Hungarian pair 17-13 to win the summit clash and bag the second gold for India at the tournament.

While Mehuli clinched her second gold at the international level, three years after bagging her first one at the 2019 South Asian Games in Kathmandu, Tushar won his maiden senior level gold.

Mehuli, who hails from West Bengal, was congratulated on Twitter by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari. “Many congratulations to ace Bengali Shooter Mehuli Ghosh for winning the Gold Medal at the Shooting World Cup 2022. You have made India proud. Mehuli won the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Gold with team mate Tushar Mane. Good luck to both for their future endeavours,” Adhikari tweeted.

In the Trap Team men’s event, the Indian trio of Prithviraj Tondaiman, Vivaan Kapoor and Bhowneesh Mendiratta secured silver after they were defeated 6-2 by Slovakia’s Adrian Drobny, Michal Slamka and Hubert Andrzej Olejnik in the final.

With two golds, one silver, and one bronze, India is now tied with China with the same medal tally in second place on the table, behind leaders Serbia with three golds.
